Luiz Adriano: I am very sorry about my goal

Goal.com:

The forward has apologised for his act of gamesmanship in his side's Champions League encounter and promised the incident will never happen again.

The story is too old to be commented.

Something like this happened to Arsenal some years ago against...don't remember who. I think Fabianski was in goal.

*Edit*
Someone mentioned it in the comments section on the article. Falcao for Porto. They dropped the ball and kicked it into the goal while Fabianski was walking back and the ref was blocking Sol Campbell.

Porto's goal is less ''cheap'' and a rather intelligent goal, because the ball was near the arsenal goal and the referee called the free-kick,so the players decided to take it quickly. It,s is not a lack of sportmanship by any means, remember when everyone praised Messi when he scored that free-kick against Atletico?

However, in Luis Adriano's goal, you can see that the ball wasn't intended for an assist , but just a fair-play throwback, so yeah, it's a lack of sportmanship from him to just pick it up and score.... but again, there's no rule agaisnt that....

double post sry.

Yeah, it was a D!ck move, but I've heard the player that got the ball thrown out was just pretending to be injured.

... with Kanu, who didn't know, or pretended not to know, this unwritten courtesy rule, so he went on playing instead of giving back the ball, crossed it to Overmars, who tapped it in.

I believe that match was played over.

Well at least he's sorry about it.

BryanBegins4165d ago

He's sorry because his boss and his sponsor told him to be. He wasn't even sorry after the game, even though he knew for sure what he did.

Pretty sure he also knew when he did it, I don't believe his argument.

I honestly wasn't aware of the whole situation.

Guess i'll play the devils advocate.

The reason for this fair play drop ball was because a player literally just dived. Perhaps this was Adriano's way of saying "You want me to play fair after a dive? jog on"

I don't condone the goal but it's slightly justified.
