The referee did not want to book Ronaldo, says Dani Alves

The Barcelona defender has claimed the referee was too afraid to caution the Portuguese during Wednesday's clash with Real Madrid for fear of seeing him suspended

The story is too old to be commented.

BAHAHAHA, what did ronaldo do the entire match??? Nothing, if anything he got that ridiculous foul in the 2nd half during his break and nothing happened. It was a blatant yellow.

The whole damn match was a bunch of B.S from the ref not letting any of the barca players be touched. Do Barca need a bigger handicap than 6 key players not starting. Get out of here.

Sometimes when big teams are missing a few players, they somehow get stronger, or surprise you. A lot of people speculated that, and I knew Barca wasn't going to get a landslide. Barca did it to Real Madrid a few years ago , now it's the other way around. As for refs, I think the linesman messed up pretty bad with that offside call on Messi, but I wouldn't argue for it too much, both teams had their chances.

I think the reffing was somewhat off in the second half. Still things like this irritate me, when other players are just playing to get an opponent carded so they miss the next match. So much for sportsmanship.

and what did pique do during the entire match? nothing a foul in the first minute of the game and that got him a yellow card, for a foul that was clearly a pushover from ronaldo to get a free kick.
the players are not asking for a yellow card so that CR misses next game, they are asking for regularity in the referee's calls. Which is highly lacking specially in spain I've noticed and when FCB and RMCF face each other.
Kind off sad really, but still the reality, madrid 19 criminal fouls a lot of them from Carvalho already with a yellow card, and an overall of three yellow cards. While barcelona committed 5 fouls in the whole game and got 3 yellow cards, ridiculous to be honest.

Yeah, Dani Alves is one to talk...

I agree that the ref didn't want to book him. But Dani Alves certainly tried his best to make it happen. Barca have turned into horrible cheating scum that play for fouls and pressure the refs.

I can't say that for all their players but Busquets, Pedro, Dani Alves and Puyol in particular are whining, cheating <insert insult here>. They go down to easy, have perfected diving as good as Barcalona have perfected passing and they all immediately run to pressure the ref when any free kick is called. I think it's a joke that this has been going on with them for so long.

Yeah sorry I didn't mean to say that all of them were cheats, Busquets and Alves in particular are a total disgrace.

As a Real fan I honestly enjoy Barcelona's style of play and admire many players on their team but they certainly have an odd tactic of trying to force cards when they play bigger teams. Pisses me off as they have more than enough talent on their team to go head to head with any other team in the world.

Luckily players like Puyol and Xavi "balance out" the ass-holeness(if that's even a word)
