it was really a choc for celtic when matri scored after just 3 minutes , and it make it really more difficult. but i agree with you celtic deserved to score.
Yeah, don't get me wrong, Celtic self-destructed in defence, they deserved to be beaten and Juventus have enough class to punish the best teams in the world when given a chance to, but what was going on in the box tonight was outrageous and the ref did as little as possible to stop it. A bigger team and it would have been dealt with.
I don't want to be THAT guy, but the ref was never going to give Celtic a chance. I couldn't believe my eyes watching this game tonight, some of the stuff going on was utterly astonishing, but, once the dust settles, the only people complaining will be the Celtic fans and Juventus will move onto the next round without breaking sweat. Fantastic, clinical finishing from Juve, but overall they weren't that exciting.
How is it a joke? Hooper was just as bad as Lichsteiner in my opinion, Celtic made few chances (most of which went straight to Buffon), and two of the goals came from stupid Celtic mistakes which can't be made at this stage. Juves other goal came from great passing and a nice finish. Celtic can't complain. Typical hold the fort Italian performance from Juve in an away game. The next leg is now a practice match for them.
as for the ref, he made some awful calls. but the goals were celtics own doing. bad defense, and yes, they did pressure quite a bit. but if you cant score from the amount of corners they had, then maybe scoring just wasn't on the cards for them.
Celtic's all-out effort was never going to be enough to beat a street-wise Juventus using some dubious wrestling holds being ignored by the match officials. Btw, no football team ever 'deserves' to score or get something out of a game. You either score or you dont.
Celtic gave it a good go but you can't make errors like they did and get away with at the top level like you can in the SPL.
It's a shame that the tie is all but over after the 1st leg but you could say it was naive of Celtic to be attacking like they were, a 1-0 loss at home wouldn't have been insurmountable.
I think juventus is practically qualifies.

Joke of a result. Celtic deserved something out of this game because they worked so hard and basically dominated the game.

Yeah Juve really capitalised on Celtics mistakes and their second goal Celtic could have no complaints about.
