Manchester United to offer Rooney new four-year deal

The 27-year-old has two years remaining on his current £250,000-a-week salary and Old Trafford executives are wary of allowing the England star to run down his contract

The story is too old to be commented.

Would be great if he came to Inter but I prefer Suarez.

If you aren't gonna pay Sneijder's wages you would never afford Rooney's and probably not Suarez either, cos if he left Liverpool he would surely command at least 150k a week.

Your doubting inters piggy bank? ;P new season new possibilities, sneijders was great but that's old news.

Probably just pretending he's wanted so they can get more when they sell him, you could get at least two class foreign players on those kind of wages.

WOW! Had no idea he was on 250k per week. That's gotta be a sizeable chunk of their wage budget. There won't be too many clubs who'll be able to pay him that, much less afford his transfer fee.

shadowraiden4001d ago

if you include all his bonuses its around 250k a week but their bonuses if he does specific things so expect it to be more 150k max basic wage. its how most clubs operate and its lazy journalism to just quote 250k out of nowhere.

Diffraction_Fos4001d ago

But still, if it all adds up to about 250k, it's still rather big for most clubs that might want him, except maybe for City(yeah right), Chelsea(same as City), PSG(Ancelotti already denies interest), Real Madrid(possible), Barca(can't see it personally) or Bayern(maybe).
