Chelsea Target Five New Signings as Roman Abramovich Looks to Continue Spending Spree

German source 4-4-2.com report that Chelsea are to make a €6m (£4.8m) bid for Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

The West London side could well do with attacking alternatives and the chance to land the experienced Dutch international ‘on the cheap’ could be too good to resist. The 29 year old is in the final year of his contract and as such Schalke may well look to make some money from the player’s sale in preference to losing the player for nothing next summer.

4.8M for KJH? Insane, too, way too cheap if true

... both Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's and Van Persie's careers since they started out in the Eredivisie, I would rate Huntelaar as the better striker, and one of the very best in the world.

If he only costs 5 million pounds, that would be one of the bargains of the century. He's guaranteed to score 20-25 goals AT LEAST, if he plays a whole season. Especially in the English league if he gets the support.

However, I'm not sure if Chelsea would be the right club for him. They already have a simular striker in Torres, who has the better reputation and bigger name, and Huntelaar shouldn't be a 2nd choice.

Arsenal could have used him, but also a team like Swansea could really benefit from a striker like Huntelaar.

Would Chelsea really want another trouble maker in M'Vila? I have a feeling this is why Arsenal didn't push through a move for him this past summer, because it was certainly close to happening.

European teams seriously need to look into the Mexican team. We have a great amount of players that look promising, and I don't understand why none of them have left for a team in Europe. We have recently won Olympic Football and the U-17 World Cup with a great participation in the U-21 World Cup. Come on Europe! Brazil and Argentina are not the only places where quality players can be found in the Americas

Chelsea bought a Mexican named Davila a year ago who excelled in a youth world cup

Didn't C. Vela and G. Dos Santos play for Arsenal and Tottenham? They both had problems there. Vela couldn't cut it and Dos Santos decided it was better to party instead of listening to Arry. So he wasn't even considered for the subs.

so because of them we're going to generalize a whole national team? no. I'm just saying that if winning the olypmics wasn't enough to prove youth talent, then what is?

Thats why Man United is increasing their activity in the Latin american markets.
They realise alot of potential in countries like Mexico and Brazil.

It's a shame that football is ran this way.

You should have a limited spending amount, all clubs should.

Most of these teams are in debt.
