Ronaldo: I’d love to join United

SunSport can reveal the former United star wishes to quit Real Madrid and return to Old Trafford, a day after boss Alex Ferguson admitted he would love him back.

Ronaldo, 27, has already told pals as well as ex-Red Devils team-mates he wants to “come home”.

if SAF is reading this, make it happen.
pay whatever it takes to bring back this player.

I'd give 60m. We sold him for 80m when he was younger and his value would depreciated over time. In the end it would have cost Real 20m for his service to them for 3 years. bargain for both parties.

wantedboys4131d ago

in your dreams 60 million he cost more than that

KingPin4131d ago

@buddy
its not as simple as that.
ronaldo is more like a classic car. just coz he got older, doesn't mean he got cheaper.

he's still one of the 2 best players on the planet. if anything, i think its going to be really difficult for him to leave real due to money issues but im sure a clubs like PSG, anzhi, Man City would be the only ones willing to splash that kind of cash. the question is, would ronaldo really consider any of those clubs? i highly doubt it.

He'll have about 2 years on his contract in the summer. He is 28 in February. If it is true, lets assume it is, he is disgruntled and wants to leave. What if he outright says I want to go?

These factors make him worth less than what Madrid paid for him. Not much less, but I don't think anyone would pay more than 60-70m for him.

United would have to find a whole bunch of money to bring him back, but like Madrid, they would recoup a huge amount of that on merchandise with a good image rights deal.

I don't really see that it is possible, but stranger things have happened. What if United end up selling Nani for 20m that has been talked about incessantly? It would take care of a fair chunk of it.

If he genuinely believes he wants to come back to United, then Ferguson may very well ask the club to look into the situation financially. Mainly because he rarely turns an opportunity down like that if one presents.

Ronaldo felt happier and more appreciated at United. His head was turned by his boyhood club, the grass seemed greener on the other side in 2009. Like many childhood dreams however, the reality is not always what it seems.

Looking at my crystal ball though, I feel he'll only end up at PSG with Mourinho.

I would hate to see CR7 leave as I am a huge Madrista, but if Cristiano Ronaldo is not happy at Real, then he should leave and rejoin his former club where he had many great years. I'll support CR7 all the way!

doncorleone4130d ago

So you are saying he should join Sporting Lisbon, his former club?

p_bateman4131d ago

United haven't got the financial muscle now especially since the glaziers own the club.

buddymagoo4131d ago

The glazers would just have to sell a 10% stake to raise £210m but whether they would do it is the question.

jony_dols4127d ago

The Glaziers aren't a charity; why would they give up a sizeable percentage of their profits to spend on a player, when United are doing just fine without him?

40 mill, Nani and a bag of balls. He's not worth more. HE IS NOT A GOAL A GAME IN ENGLAND NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Can't wait for this crybaby to leave. Once ronaldo and mou leave, the bad aura will be lifted at madrid, and ozil will shine with players that support each other, not like this selfish see you next tuesday.
