Not true. Teams would regularly play with 5 at the back and 3 holding midfield players.

People were more ashamed to concede goals and were happy to just get the one goal.

what im saying is that if falcao and RVP played in pele's days, they would shine just as well or even more because you say the defenses are much weaker then than they are now. therefore RVP = pele level.
