I thought they had the money until someone in the comments of another story told me that they're still in massive amounts of debt brought on by the new stadium. If they don't have the money, then there's nothing they can do but accept that they're no longer up there with the very best. If they, like I thought, do have the money and are just being frugal, they've only got themselves to blame. It still riles me that their tickets are the most expensive in the league.
Who ever told you that is an idiot, Arsenal payed off the stadiums a few years back now, they've been making a profit every year. Just this year they made 24-27 mil.
