I see no problem with shaving your legs as a man, or going out and buying yourself nice clothes, etc. I also see nothing wrong with wearing earrings, I have some on and I don't feel any less of a man.

most footballers/ male athletes in general shave their legs coz of the sports they play. example, football/hockey/rugby etc are all contact sports and for health reasons they are told to shave their legs coz another players blood could get stuck on it which could lead to problems if they were to get scratched and things. cyclists as well coz in case of falling, with hair there is more likely chance of a scratch turning into something worse like a gash. people should read up these things if they have no interest in sport.
as for beckham, he merely looked after his image which i dont see anything wrong with. no harm in making yourself look good.
