Whelan: One more year for Fergie

I don't think he will leave in a year. Just one more year? No way. His time is ending that there is no doubt finally, but i think he'll have 2 more seasons MINIMUM to complete his final team.

Not until his latest baby is ready and the younger players have stepped up into the first team permanently i.e Jones, Smalling, Welbeck, Rafael etc and he adds a couple more youngsters to the squad this summer.

Then he will have the squad to see the next 3 or 4 years after he finishes are mostly taken care of, and transition to a new manager slowly. It'll be an easing out, with him likely going upstairs or being an advisor to the new manager. This may seem out of the ordinary, but this WOULD be a unique situation.

Manchester United require stability, and only a manager who had shown commitment would be considered.

I can easily see someone like David Moyes coming in. He has done near miracles with nothing at Everton, imagine what could be accomplished with money. Ferguson is well known to be a long time admirer of his style and work ethic, being a fellow Scot.

Not only that, Moyes has spent over a decade at Everton. He is the third longest serving manager from all the 4 professional English football leagues. That is the sort of stability literally money cannot buy. He won't be 50 until next year, and could easily last 15 years at a club like United.
