10 Things You Need to Know About Neymar

BR - Neymar is one of the most promising young athletes in any sport at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The 20-year-old is already in the conversation for the greatest soccer player of all-time, even though he has only been a pro for three years.

He has been compared to both Pelé and Lionel Messi, even though he insists Messi is in a class of his own. That statement indicates a modesty that some of his other actions don't.

Seen one thing about the lad the other day that takes him right out of the list of comparables along side any the greats. Tap him and he will chew on the grass and role around like cindarella.

Just like Ronaldo and many other of todays wannabe players yes they are gifted players but these lads try to live up to what was set in the past.

Only one player today can stand close and hes the current world number one Messi.

I laughed the other day when watching the team GB game there was a comment made by one of the commentators about Neymar "You know he reminds me of a young George Best." I near feel of my seat :D.

Best would lose a boot and still play on his feet. Take a bad tackle answer it with a goal. Maradona the same Messi the same.

Pele should know better when he is dissing players tbh. He makes his comments because theres has been a flaw in the generations of Brazilians seen him. They all go to ground far to easy.

I think he thought he had seen the last of that breed of player when Maradona had left the field with the drug charges duly of course. But i think Messi brings back bad memorys on the old fool.

Glad to see someone else noticed this. I watched him play against Mexico, and the kid just couldn't get through that defense. Any little push and he ended up rolling in the ground. That's why I've always said that he needed to go to Europe, to gain experience, but the Brazilians that advise him are being quite arrogant.

It's ironic how many people keep praising this guy despite the team he plays for only recently left the relegation zone.

there's only 1 thing you need to know about him:

1. he looks like a ****ing douchebag.

chukamachine4287d ago

1) He's ugly
2) He's cocky
3) Man utd will try to buy him

pompombrum4287d ago

Utd won't go for him.. Fergie hates playboys. He's Madrid bound.

I agree. Can't see him going to Barca either. I'd put AC Milan as the second choice simply because Milan often has a lot of Brazilians.

11. He's incredibly over-rated and has never been tested at the world's top leagues.
