Gonzalo Higuain is aiming to feature more for Real Madrid this season.
But the former River Plate striker realises his chances of securing a regular first-team berth are down to him.
Higuain played a key role as Real won their first league title in four years last season, scoring 22 times in 35 Liga appearances, despite having to compete with Karim Benzema for a place in Jose Mourinho's starting 11n.
The 24-year-old has been in among the goals on the US pre-season tour and netted the opener in the 5-1 win over Los Angeles Galaxy on August 3.
