Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has backed summer signing Jan Vertonghen to fill the void left by former captain Ledley King following his retirement from the game.
Spurs supporters handed King a rapturous ovation as he made an appearance at White Hart Lane in Saturday's 1-1 draw against West Brom, with Villas-Boas piling the pressure on Vertonghen by claiming he will emerge as the new rock of the Tottenham defence.
A shame, King is only 31 yrs he still has a few years in him.
I would've thought many EPL clubs go after him, maybe QPR, Sunderland, etc as he is a great defender
