Sweden vs England Player Ratings

Goal: Zlatan Ibrahimovic stole the show with four goals for the hosts, who crowned their new stadium with a victory, while Roy Hodgson's men disappointed defensively. (England, FIFA World Cup, International, Sweden)

Honestly, i have abandoned all hopes for England.

England is not gonna win anything
at least fro several more years! they are just THAT weak! the best they will do is quarter final in every competition! that's the sad truth for a country that has the most popular football league in the whole wide world!
Ben Dover  +   737d ago
And yet the majority of the playmakers in the Premier League are foreign people. Your comment doesn't make sense Badz..
badz149  +   737d ago
I did make sense
that's why England lack creativity and depth! there is no playmaker

Just embarrassing, it's sweden not brazil. England a nation of 50million whose number 1 sport is football must have the talent to swat these teams like flys.

I think the german model of forcing every club to have a youth academy and also have at least 5 players ready for the national team works well.
Enyxodin  +   738d ago
Haha, you underestimate sweden. This isn't the first time sweden wins over England.
HellzRazor  +   738d ago
No you troll you overestimate sweden, simple logic will tell you that more talent should exist in a population of 50million vs 9million. Like i said England need to get their act together over the decades.

BTW i never said this was the first time sweden beat England haha read pal.
yezz  +   738d ago
hellz your "simple logic" is so stupid..

Sweden doesn't have superplayers after Zlatan.. They just play great together and obviously score goals. England has more talented players than Sweden but SURPRISINGLY it doesn't mean that the more talented team will always win !!

I think they key thing here is that Sweden is a good TEAM and England is just a group of great players wondering around the field.
Ben Dover  +   737d ago
No offense Hellz but Sweden at its current state and teamplay is a far better team than England's unorganized mess.

Your comment doesn't make sense btw. Holland, a country with only 16 million people, is delivering one of the most talented players in the world. Their national squad and the amount of worldclass Dutch players scattered all over Europe proves this. I don't see a lot of English people achieving the same..

You have a point regarding the academy idea, a lot of the reason for the English Premier League being as good as it is is the sheer number of foreign players in every team. Good English players are still coming through, they're often simply not playing enough due to the importing of foreign players who are better, stunting their development.

But, Sweden are not chopped liver. They are a good team with a lot of skilful players at their disposal.

Why aren't China the best team in the world then?

You should calm down, it was just a meaningless friendly. A couple of kids got their debuts too, you can't really complain about youth not coming through when they were there for all to see.
HellzRazor  +   738d ago
Can't you read, china isn't the best team in the world for the same reasons England don't win anything, little investment in youth, good teachers and no forcing every club to have a youth academy not to mention extreme poverty n corruption.

I can complain about youth coming through, they aint good enough and the amount coming through is poor.

There is no wonder this country does not hit it's full potential with people like you and others who voted me down wanted to keep the status quo, you think their is nothing wrong thats why we aint won jack all since 66.

If you think small sweden wiping it's arse with us at any level is acceptable then you need to aim higher.

Just joined the site and il be leaving you will be glad hear, the welcome on the site is disgusting plus i would prefer to be on a site where comments are cheered for saying we should invest in youth more and be able to beat sweden. ta ta

That goal by Ibra was amazing...
dennett316  +   738d ago
Agreed, such quality. There are players on the England team that can pull off similar skill, but they never seem to show it when called up to the main team.
doncorleone  +   738d ago
Lol yeah i'm not even sure the word amazing does this goal justice
Corepred4  +   738d ago
Ibrape!! And England is ranked 4th! This just proves it as total bs!
momthemeatloaf  +   738d ago
England have good players, they just don't have the manager to put it all together. Red knapp probably could, he always works magic
Leio  +   737d ago
The problem has always been the pressure from the media hyping up the team out of proportion. They are the reason behind why English players are always nervous when they step on the field.
