Manchester United Legend George Best Was the Original Leo Messi

BR - As Leo Messi collects his fourth Ballon d'Or in a row, it's hard not to come to the conclusion that he is the greatest footballer of all time.

The Barcelona forward is quickly making a mockery of the age old Pele versus Maradona debate, scoring goals previously reserved for the Xbox. No othe (Barcelona, English Premier League, Lionel Andrés Messi, Manchester United, Spanish Primera Division)

And he did it at a time when the pitches were a mess and players could really get away with bad tackles.

Also in a time where defending was a mess...:)

Not true. Teams would regularly play with 5 at the back and 3 holding midfield players.

People were more ashamed to concede goals and were happy to just get the one goal.

nes, going on like defense was an after thought back in the day. it wasn't. you just choose to believe that.

with your logic you saying pele, best, maradona, <insert soccer legend here> were only as rvp/falcao.

talk about delusional.
Nes_Daze  +   650d ago
@Kingpin, have no idea what you just said, but nice try at a spin, you can't take credit away from a player because you think defense was much better in maradona or pele's time, which is btw, stupid.
Nes_Daze  +   651d ago
Doesn't mean it made their defending any better, or their formations any better tactically than the ones seen today.
KingPin  +   650d ago
@my statement above.

what im saying is that if falcao and RVP played in pele's days, they would shine just as well or even more because you say the defenses are much weaker then than they are now. therefore RVP = pele level.

<if you still dont understand, il have to bust out the crayons and start drawing pictures bro :)>

Argh... if only George best was a player today, i can only dream, he would definitely give Messi a run for his money .
