If Lionel Messi Is Superman, What Is His Kryptonite?

BR - What more can be said about Lionel Messi?

He is simply the best player in the world and arguably the greatest that will ever play the game.

With every game, Lionel Messi continues to leave fans speechless. Coming off of a 91-goal year and winning his fourth consecutive Ballon d’Or, Messi is football’s version of Superman. (Lionel Andrés Messi, Spanish Primera Division)

xavi and iniesta not playing.

Like another guy said below, he received very few assists from xavi and iniesta last season. Haters are gonna hate. Best player ever.

where did i say iniesta and xavi assisted messi?
could you, nez and imtiyaz please show me. would be nice.

i said "xavi and iniesta not playing."
as in they not controlling the entire midfield for 90% of the match, which keeps barca on the front foot, which keeps messi up front, which keeps messi scoring.

you guys defending him like im saying he only scores when xavi and iniesta give him the ball. next time you read a comment, understand what it says. before going on your "higher than thou" rants.

you guys should look at the stats....Xavi and iniesta in midfield, Spain won Euro 2008, a world cup and Euro 2012. messi without xavi and iniesta in midfield, did argentina win the world cup or the copa america?

lolz, and nez calls us ignorant dumb kids.... more like the messi fans on 11x2 are delusional.

Wow, nice essay kingpin, I must have hit a nerve. Just proves my point. Messi hit twelve goals in nine games for Argentina last year, he played his part to the full for them even if they didn't win. You want him to come back and defend as well to prove he is the best? Ironic how you call people delusional.

haha when i don't write an essay, you mis-interpret things completely.

when i spell it out for you like you a 5 year old, you think you hit a nerve. lol

you sure you not 5 years old?

Hey Kingpin. Ok, regardless of assists, it's quite clear that you suggest Messi is not as good without Xavi and Iniesta. I went on to tell you that Messi had more goals for Argentina last year than he had appearances proving he doesn't need Xavi and Iniesta so your original post is not true.

And as for my age, yes I'm positive I'm not five years old. Even asking me that shows that you have no argument on the topic anymore and have to resort to insulting people as a result. I don't come to this site to insult peoples opinions but I will challenge them in friendly debate.

As for me "misinterpreting" your original post, I suggest you be clearer if you want people to understand you and if they don't, not to insult them in your response. You are pretty much slapping your own face when talking about people being "higher than thou". Joke is on you bud.

Easy, a team with bad chemistry. Which is what Argentina has suffered from a bit, other than that, every team has players that create plays for the best out there.

Funny when you actually look at the stats, Messi scores mostly all of his goals by himself, when it's an assist, he usually dribbles towards the net and scores, and I find it funny how people think that an assist= making a goal with no skill. Legendary players in history have had 2-3 guys, helping them out, so perhaps Messi is just so good he inspires people that don't like him to suffer from ignorance.

Again, look at some stats before you make yourself look dumb kids, 91 goals in one season isn't simply done with assists....lol

Last season, Xavi and Iniesta had a combination of just 9 assists for Messi. It's just pure ignorance if anyone thinks he's only good because of them. Ronaldo and Messi are both exceptional players and both of them rely heavily on their team-mates, and there is nothing wrong with that because football is a team sport after all.

It's surely not Ronaldo.
