Ex-Premier League star Danny Mills: drugs were rife

Danny Mills has revealed the extent of the culture of injections and pill-taking that he experienced during his career.

The former England international, who retired in 2009, says players would do “anything to get an edge” on team-mates, including trips to doctors abroad to get illegal treatment, and he has warned of the dangers of getting sucked into the win-at-all-costs world of English football. Note to say he was talking about legal drugs at his time but other players would do illegal things to break into the sport and become the best
