Manchester United reports strong growth

ESPNFC:

Manchester United is running away with the English Premier League title, and achieving record success off the pitch as well.

The club on Thursday forecast record revenue this season of 350 million pounds ($542 million) to 360 million pounds ($558 million) as it released financial results for the last three months of a trophyless 2012.

The story is too old to be commented.

It is important for United to have strong growth because of Financial Fair Play.

This growth is fairly impressive, mainly because it is from a year where United's revenue from competitions surely dropped because of early exit from the Champions league. This increase also comes the season before TV revenue for the Premier League will grow massively.

When United get a piece of that from next season, they will close up the revenue gap somewhat to Barcelona and Real Madrid.

All the Premier League clubs are going to benefit hugely from the new TV deal, but teams in the running for titles could collect over £100m. Thats a big leap from the £60m collected by Manchester City last season.
