Character building: Liverpool need 'real men' to restore a winning mentality, says Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers is prepared to chart a collision course with his paymasters in order to inject the character he admits his team has been lacking this season.

The Liverpool boss was blunt in his assessment of the new look side he is crafting at Anfield, following the devastating Europa League defeat in St Petersburg, which leaves the Reds facing their season being over before the end of February. (Brendan Rodgers, English Premier League, Liverpool FC)

Sad but true. The cheapskate owners focused too much on "cheap young talent". Unfortunately, young players usually don't have much in the way of mental strength.

"You don't win anything with kids."

FSG has a lot to answer for.

It would be better if they were getting young talent for cheap but they are totally overpaying for these young players.
