Only I can stop Bale, says Tottenham team-mate Walker

Goal.com:

The Spurs right-back says he has found the way to prevent the Wales winger from getting past, but won't reveal his secrets so the star can keep destroying Premier League defences.

The story is too old to be commented.

Bale is also going the rooney route, which is

"Route Overrated"

how is rooney over-rated?

he plays for the benefit of the team. when Ronaldo was at united, he played so that ronaldo would be free to do as he likes <ronaldo top goal scorer>. when ronaldo left he scored 20+ goals in a season <rooney top goal scorer>. he played so that berbetov had freedom to score goals <berba top goal scorer>. and now he is playing to give van persie freedom. he plays deep to win the ball in midfield. he works 100% every week that he plays.

TBF, 'overrated' does not equate to calling him mediocre. He's a terrific player. But unfortunately, the English media loves to overhype and oversell their best players quite frequently. And Rooney, some 6-7 years ago was made out to be like the best ever in history or something. So it's not surprising that people would have antagonistic feeling towards the hype.

"Please. Please. Notice me, big clubs. I'm using Gareth's spotlight to market myself."

Guy couldn't even stop Coutinho. Other than his speed, he's seriously average. I don't know what it is about "speedsters" that people automatically think they're great footballers. Probably the same bunch of people who think Usain Bolt would make a terrific football player. Yeah, because it's THAT easy to become a great footballer, right? I mean, have you noted the amount of "world class" footballers that the UK is churning out everyday, according to their media?
