TBF, 'overrated' does not equate to calling him mediocre. He's a terrific player. But unfortunately, the English media loves to overhype and oversell their best players quite frequently. And Rooney, some 6-7 years ago was made out to be like the best ever in history or something. So it's not surprising that people would have antagonistic feeling towards the hype.

Guy couldn't even stop Coutinho. Other than his speed, he's seriously average. I don't know what it is about "speedsters" that people automatically think they're great footballers.
