Liverpool fans should not let Owen's Manchester United spell tarnish his legacy, says Houghton

The former Reds midfielder says that despite a career that took him to the club's fierce rivals, supporters should not forget the important goals he scored for the Merseysiders

The story is too old to be commented.

A legacy of turning your back on the club that MADE you, failing everywhere else and eventually joining "the enemy"(and still failing) alongwith blaming LFC for your poor injury record? Yeah, they definitely won't want to tarnish THAT(you're doing a good job of it on your own).

Next up - Fernando Torres.

He won the prem title with United, something that Liverpool couldn't do when he was in his prime.

... pretty sure United would have won that title without Michael Owen as well(!)

A big talent once, mostly because of his explosive speed, but (also due to injuries) never really became the great player many hoped for.

Yeah, and Torres has the Champions League medal with Chelsea. Doesn't mean he contributed s**t all to the cause.

Try again.

I'll never forget the Man Utd vs. Man City game at Old Trafford, where Owen scored in Fergie time. Amazing game! Thank you, Michael Owen! All the best.
