Newcastle have released a statement condemning the behaviour of a section of their support following the 3-0 home loss to Sunderland in Sunday's Tyne-Wear derby.
Violence broke out between Newcastle fans and police after the final whistle had gone, with 29 arrests being made, as well as three police officers suffering injuries during the trouble.
The Black Cats' victory was their first at St. James' Park for 13 years and their biggest derby win since 1979.
People can be such a bunch of savages.
