The reasons behind Messi & Barcelona's Bayern battering

Lionel Messi cut a forlorn figure. The Argentine's appearance in the starting XI at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night was confirmed following an announcement two and a half hours before kick-off that he had been given the green light by medical staff to turn out against Bayern Munich. But he wasn't ready for what came next - and nor were Barcelona.

The story is too old to be commented.

The German teams have just been faster and better with the ball. Better man marking, better passing, etc. Of course, it doesn't help if you have Masherano and Puyols out, and your best player still recovering from an injury, but more could've been done even with what they had.

Hopefully they sign a CB in the summer, and PLEASE get rid of Sanchez.
