Messi breaks Ronaldo's Barcelona goal-scoring record

Lionel Messi has become the highest-scoring Barcelona player in a single La Liga season after scoring in the Catalan side's 2-0 win over Mallorca on Saturday. (Barcelona, Lionel Andrés Messi, Spanish Primera Division)

Great indeed. But people often forget Ronaldo was only 20 years old to Messi's 24 when he achieved the previous record. Now THAT is crazy. Had he not needed those 3 serious operations on the same knee(the 2nd one at only 22 y/o), I have no doubt he'd have been setting many more records left, right and center.

Ronaldo will take the ball from midfielder n run through defence. While messi have to be in the box or need tap or pk

Barcelona play in a false9 formation which means that messi is always dropping back to the midfield. In most of the goals that he scores he would have had a hand in the build up of the play. If you don't watch Barcelona enough please don't through out statements like that. I'm not taking anything away from Ronaldo, he is still a great legend.

What an achievement... And I might be biased but I still think Ronaldo tops Messi. Ronaldo was just out of this world! Too bad for those knee injuries!
