In terms of the run of play, Tottenham were the better team. This really was a ground-out 1-0 win. Pleasantly surprised by the resilience shown to keep them out in the closing stages. More of that when needed would be great. -_-
Now please use what's left of the transfer window to add no less than two players (who could actually be useful) to our threadbare squad...
Arsenal in Crisis according to the media, yet Spurs seem to be tittle contenders according to the same media. We need a proper DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER and a decent CENTER HALF more than anything. Any other signings are just a bonus for Arsenal. Giroud has started well this season unlike last. Just need more squad depth. Hopefully most of the squad injuries get back soon and stay healthy. As for Spurs, many decent to good signings, but might take them a while to gel. That is one of the concerns I have if Arsenal were to suddenly start bringing in too many players.
Arsenal is in crisis every year, however every so often Arsenal will show class and can show that they are a quality team that finishes in top 4 every season.
I'm not a Arsenal fan, but I believe that fans deserve more from wenger and arsenal. Arsenal could be proper title contenders if they had 1 or 2 extra quality players.
I wouldn't take too much from this win. A lot of new players started for Spurs, they'll take time to gel. It was a great performance though. I loved how Rosicky and others worked really hard to win the ball. Now only if we could just maintain that level of hunger and desire to win for the rest of the season.
I loved Arsenal's goal, pretty much came from nowhere. Arsenal's speed at passing and running to space was amazing. There are lots of areas where Arsenal are bad at, especially with closing players down. However, if they ar able to outplay and outpass the opponents like todays goal then they shouldn't have too much trouble.
What's this, 3 goals in 3 games for Giroud? Hopefully he can continue this form. I'm not an arsenal fan but i'm cheering for one of their players, feels kind of weird haha
