I dare say that there wasn't a single player going through the amount of pressure that Ronaldo went through in the entire year (2013). His goal-scoring records are already beyond anything ever seen in Madrid's history, but the sheer amount of baseless criticism (Mourinho/Blatter) and expectations that he's had to deal with, all while responding like a true professional, absolutely blows my mind. This guy deserves this award. Ribery did everything well with his team, but individually Ronaldo was way better.
