So far so good for Giggs...

KingPin3643d ago

giggs comes in 1 match and does what moyes considers his best result in 10 months.

but yeah, lets not jump the gun. its one match against a bottom side and 1st half wasnt all that impressive. 90% of the action in the 1st half came from the right side where valencia was. kagawa didnt do much in the 1st half.

i think the penalty calmed some nerves and rooneys second lifted the pressure. norwich had to come out and make a game of it and i think that allowed united more space in the second half. allowed them to play a better game.

united still have problems, still need a rebuild of the squad. no doubt. the question is even if giggs wins the remaining matches, do you trust him to spend 150 million? i know i wouldnt. although i can see giggs being manager in the future, now isnt the best time for that. bring in van gaal (if they can). let giggs, scholes, butt etc be part of his staff. get some much needed experience.

the other option would be keep giggs, scholes, etc and get a manager of football to supervise them. though that eliminates some of the freedom. if giggs wins the remaining matches, united owners will have some tough decisions to make.

as for today, we'll take it. a win is a win and the style we played in the second half showed united of old. had a very much attacking style to them.

I haven't seen one person anywhere complaining about Giggs not starting Mata, playing Kagawa out of position, starting Cleverly, Januzaj not even in the squad, etc. Looks like it was the players that didn't bother for Moyes.

Ironically 'Giggs out' was tending on twitter- probably a joke though

I don't think that was the issue for United fan in the team Moyes was picking but the issue for most people was lack of vision and changing his formation and subs when they are not performing. At half time United had not really done much but this is where you see the difference between a good manager and a not so good one. United came out the 2nd half and looked a different team. He also brought Mata on and he made an impact.

Football is not always about what team you put out at the start of a game its what is done in the game that makes or breaks you.

How many times did united go in at half time under Sir Alex behind or playing poor and then after half time something was said or changed and they came back to win?

I still don't know if Giggs should get the job for next season but I would like to see him as our number 2 under a new manager and then in 2 to 3 years become the new manager with the class of 92.
