That penalty was a terrible call by the ref! I have refereed games where players actually aim for the opponents arms (instead of the actual net) in the 18 yard box on purpose, just to get a penalty shot. An experienced referee should see that and should be able to distinguish the difference between a hand-ball and a ball-hand!
That was clearly a ball-hand and NOT a hand-ball. A hand-ball usually has a player moving his arm with a reactionary movement before contact with the ball is made! Also, his arms were at his sides in a running motion and not in the air, which is another cause for calling a hand-ball.
What happened to the Holland we seen against Spain? Wasn't convinced by this performace. Cahill's goal was a cracker. Australia have done themselves well this tournament I think. Really tough group.
It wasn't so much as the Dutch out playing the Spanish, as it was the Spanish playing terribly weak and the Dutch taking advantage! But I won't take anything away from the Dutch, they played an outstanding game, but the rest of their games won't be as easy. The other teams will not play as weak as the Spanish played, especially with the goals against advantage they have now.
Take out the unwarranted penalty and you have a 3-1 win. With Australia playing as well as they did, I think they played outstandingly in this match as well.

Very exciting game to watch, I think either side deserved to win this. Happy the Netherlands won though, but both earned it.
