FRISCO, Texas — The goofy 2006 comedy film "Beerfest" came to mind after FC Dallas and the Seattle Sounders drew 1-1 here Sunday night.
There were no chug-offs, and champagne in the locker room would've been an extra bad idea since it was only the first leg of the teams' Western Conference semifinal, but remember the scene with the puppet? Of course you don't. You were far too sophisticated to watch "Beerfest." There's a scene in the movie in which the character named Landfill irritates a character named Fink with a wooden puppet while Fink is trying to explain air bubbles (this film was not nominated for an Academy Award). Landfill, as the puppet, fixates on one word over and over.
