With the Koning Boudewijn Stadium in Brussels selling out in a matter of hours, thousands of ticketless Club Brugge fans flocked to a specially-constructed “Cup Final Village” in Bruges town centre in order to watch Sunday afternoon’s big Belgian Cup Final clash against perennial rivals Anderlecht.
Watching the game unfold on a giant screen, the 9,000-odd Club Brugge fans packed into the square then went through the exact same rigours and elation that those lucky enough to snag tickets went through in the capital – with the whole thing being caught on cameras dotted around the square.
