I guess De Bruyne didn't learn his lesson after all. His Chelsea move did not pan out in the slightest. He had a good thing going at Genk and forced his move to a club that frankly was much bigger than his own abilities and in the end didn't need his services.
This is like a new phenomena in football where these young kids make the 'big move' all too soon. And it can have serious lasting effects on your career, way too many guys end up becoming journeyman spending two three years on loan. They fail to develop with a team and then you never hear from them again.
De Bruyne is lucky in that he found a groove with Wolfsburg who are no small club in their own right and now he wants a move to City? A team that really has no room or need for a player like him.
