How dare they punish a woman! Sexism I tell you!

Right, let's not even bother to look at the complexities of the situation and just say she's arbitrarily yelling 'sexism!111!' or something. Judging from what's stated here, she doesn't seem to blame the notion of getting disciplinary action from this altogether; it's the punitive extent of the suspension that bothers her. I mean...the likes of Suarez can literally BITE someone in efforts of winning a game and gets this sort of punishment ( http://www.fifa.com/worldcu... ) yet some name-calling can net you THIS kind of a suspension? Funny...I figured the anti-PC, free speech activists would be behind Solo having the right to do some rabble-rousing without the threat of consequence. But I guess it's not convenient to say so here.

Another thing to keep in mind when setting up a strawman: at least insert SOMETHING tangible to what she's suggesting before setting a BS argument up. She's not opining that this punishment is about sexism but of...well, "sports politics." There's a difference. Neither her, nor her teammate also quoted, bring up the notion of the Federation being anti-woman or whatever. They believe a target's on Solo's back because of her vocal opposition to the current situations surrounding women's soccer, both on and off the field. Regardless of the validity you or I may find with some of her claims, the fact that some bad press can make the US Soccer Federation hover over players, ready to exploit their mistakes with prolonged suspensions to--possibly--send a message, isn't very encouraging for the sport altogether.
