Shane Evans: So it's nearly award season, and the top prize out there is the Balon d'Or. For my money, if it's not a Spanish player who plays for a certain pinstriped La Liga team, there will be issues.
Zac Lee Rigg: I'm pretty sure no Athletic Bilbao players will be anywhere close. That said, choosing a winner this year is difficult. Internazionale won the most domestic awards, but no one from Inter won the World Cup. I'm guessing the WC weighs it in favor of a Barcelona player as well, but Barca's best player was Lionel Messi. It leaves an interesting predicament where any out of Wesley Sneijder, Messi, or Xavi could win.
