Villarreal midfielder Borja Valero delighted to receive international recognition for Spain.
Villarreal playmaker Borja Valero could not hide his satisfaction at being given his first-ever call-up to the Spanish national side for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers against Lithuania and Scotland.
Injuries to midfield regulars Pedro, Xavi, Cesc Fabregas and Jesus Navas has meant that La Roja coach Vicente del Bosque has been forced into additional selections, with in-form Valero enjoying his maiden selection.
He becomes the fifth Yellow Submarines first team player to be included in Del Bosque’s current squad, and the former Real Madrid and Mallorca creator spoke of his joy at receiving international recognition.
