Francesco Totti escapes unhurt after his car speeds out of control.
Roma captain Francesco Totti had a lucky escape on Tuesday when the car he was travelling in went out of control in Montecarlo.
Totti was in Monaco to receive his Golden Foot 2010 award, but not without suffering a scare first.
Il Messaggero reports Totti's driver opened the door for him to step out of the vehicle, but he had forgotten to engage the handbrake and the inevitable happened as the Opel Meriva rolled backwards and started to gather speed with no one at the wheel.
Thus Totti was forced into action as he jumped into the front to regain control and bring the car to a safe stop without crashing.
