VIDEO: Once In A Lifetime: Pachuca Midfielder Juan Rojas Saves A Penalty Vs Morelia

A fantastically rare event took place on Saturday in Mexico as Pachuca midfielder Juan Rojas wrote his name into the history books becoming one of the few outfield players to have saved a penalty in a match.

The setting was the fixture between Pachuca and Morelia, a match which ended 1-apiece. But Morelia should have won the match with just two minutes remaining.

As the sands of time ran out, the Tuzos backline was caught out. Goalkeeper Miguel Calero raced off his line only to bring down the onrushing Luis Rey, who had deftly touched the ball past an instant earlier. Calero was sent off, and a penalty was awarded to Morelia.

With all their substitutes used, Pachuca were forced to put midfielder Juan Rojas between the sticks to face the impending penalty.
