U.S. women open WC qualifying against Haiti

The United States women's national team starts CONCACAF World Cup qualifying Thursday night against Haiti, the first of three games in a five-day span but, after eight days of training leading up to the tournament, Lauren Cheney said that will be the "fun part." . The U.S., ranked No. 1 in the world, faces just one other country ranked among the top 50 by FIFA in the group stage. Following the Haiti game, the Americans play Guatemala on Saturday and then 48th-ranked Costa Rica its Group B finale on Monday.
