Premier League Preview: Blackburn Rovers - Chelsea

Resilient Rovers Ready For Rearguard Action

Big Sam’s sides are famous for having a rigid 4-5-1 formation and playing what has been described by some as ‘anti-football’. Even Danny Murphy has criticised the former Bolton Wanderers boss for sending his team out onto the pitch “too pumped up”. But Allardyce doesn’t care how his team plays as long as they get a result, and they will be desperate for a shock against Chelsea on Saturday.

Rovers haven’t kick-started their season yet, winning just once at home - a 1-0 win over Everton on the opening day - and they could slip into the relegation zone if they fail to get anything against Chelsea.

The story is too old to be commented.
