Liverpool Midfielder Joe Cole May Miss Premier League Clash With Chelsea

Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole could miss next Sunday's match against his former club Chelsea due to a hamstring injury.

The 28-year-old, who joined the club on a free transfer from Stamford Bridge in the summer, picked up the injury in Sunday’s 1-0 victory against Bolton Wanderers.

Although the injury is not considered serious, Cole’s ability to train during the week is likely to be affected. Roy Hodgson is awaiting the results of a scan before deciding on Cole’s availability.

The story is too old to be commented.

No No ! I don't want any excuses from liverpool fans when we kick their ass :)

kulka4918d ago

Thanks lol but I think it will be a draw this time no excuses needed

karim4918d ago

With that defence I don't think it will be a draw and your signings are really average mereiles and poulsen aren't very effective

FootballZilla4918d ago

Liverpool defense is horrible full stop they need a more fluid football from defense to attack

Meireles is really good and he makes a huge impact on the game. Poulsen not so much, but he is now a sub instead of starting 11 like he was earlier in the season.
Lucas has improved in the past few games, and so has our entire defense. When Johnson gets back he will add another depth to our attacks, and hopefully Agger/Aurelio will replace Konchesky soon. Kuyt should be back to place against Chelsea. Torres and Gerrard are the two that I am most concerned with

A draw?! That would be a fantastic result for Liverpool. Chelsea are looking like bullish champions and I expect they'll rip us to pieces.

Torres is starting to look like himself again and the defence is looking a lot better in the last 4 games. Chelsea struggled against blackburn on saturday so a draw sounds likely

karim4917d ago

No A draw seems a good result for Liverpool Not Chelsea...Well we have the best attack in the league and when lampard comes back (it's gonna be even better) and if liverpool continue that form well you know what will happen

GJ234918d ago

A draw would be a great result for the league. Chelsea are too far forward now and a Draw would put Man u, Man city and Arsenal back into it.

Shankle4918d ago

They're still in it - you don't win the league in October or November. There's plenty of time for Chelsea to slip up.

FootballZilla4918d ago

I have mates that support liverpool and they allways have an excuse when they lose it amazing.

a few years ago they had no chance in winning the prem so they was saying liverpool was going for the champs league tht year ;)

karim4918d ago

Yes It's True They Always Have Excuses but 2 Years They Had A Chance 2 Win The League But the CL I doubt...anyway they need to rebuild this team and change the manager

GJ234918d ago

I noticed that too lol. Usually has something to do with the linesman/ref being in the wrong place

kulka4918d ago

we need a new defensive midfilder Poulsen is the worst player I have ever seen in a liverpool shirt

karim4918d ago

He Didn't Even Play 10 Minutes In The Last Game

GJ234918d ago

It's not such a bad thing really given Joe Cole's for at the moment.
