Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has confirmed that midfield talisman Cesc Fabregas is out of Wednesday evening’s Champions League clash versus Shakhtar Donetsk due to a hamstring injury.
The Spanish international felt a twinge during the weekend victory over West Ham but completed the match, with the Gunners triumphing through a late Alex Song goal.
However, with the London club recording three comfortable wins from a possible three win in Group H, Wenger has left Fabregas at home, and speaking at this morning’s press conference, he insisted that the measure was precautionary and was confident the 23-year-old would face Newcastle at the weekend.
Arsenal Have pretty much already qualified. Maybe a chance for Wenger to give some younger players a taste of champions league football
They probably don't need him for the rest of the group games they just need a point anyways so is all good.
