Brighton beat Exeter 3-0 to maintain their eight-point lead at the top of League One on Tuesday, while Huddersfield won at Sheffield Wednesday.
Two Ashley Barnes goals helped the Seagulls to a comfortable victory over the Grecians at the Withdean Stadium.
Adam El-Abd headed the opener in the seventh minute before a Barnes penalty on the half-hour mark gave them a two-goal cushion.
And the 21-year-old summer signing from Plymouth Argyle sealed the points in the 77th minute with a cool finish.
