Arsenal midfielder Theo Walcott admits his side didn't defend well in shock Shakhtar defeat

Arsenal midfielder Theo Walcott admitted that the Gunners didn’t defend well as they succumbed to a shock 2-1 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk in Group H of the Champions League on Wednesday.

The England winger opened the scoring for the Gunners early in the first half but they were pegged back as midfielder Craig Eastmond scored an own goal and then former Arsenal man Eduardo scored on the stroke of half time.

And Walcott feels that despite the early goal it was always going to be a hard place to come and get a good result.

“It’s a tough place to come to and they have a very good home record,” Walcott told Sky Sports.
