It was a record breaking evening in Zilina as Marseille earned a club record away win in Europe. Andre-Pierre Gignac led the charge with a hat-trick, while Lucho Gonzalez added a brace and Gabriel Heinze and Loic Remy netted a goal apiece to sweep away their Slovakian counterparts.
Marseille were favourites for the match and it didn't take long for them to assert their dominance, as after only 12 minutes Andre-Pierre Gignac untidily put them ahead when he diverted in a Benoit Cheyrou free kick.
It was a fantastic display by them. Zilina has conceded 15 goals in 4 games. Not a good start to their first champions league
