Papers: No rush for Rooney

Rooney won't rush it
Sir Alex Ferguson is refusing to rush Wayne Rooney back from the USA despite facing a selection crisis at Old Trafford. The Manchester United boss will have a depleted squad to pick from when his side go to Aston Villa tomorrow lunchtime. Several stars are still struggling to shake off the virus that has swept through his camp this week. To make matters worse, in-form Paul Scholes is suspended after picking up five bookings and Rafael is out with a dead leg. Nani is also battling a sore groin while Patrice Evra suffered an ankle injury in the derby draw.

So Rooney’s return to the side would give Fergie a boost. The United boss is already without Owen Hargreaves, Antonio Valencia and Michael Owen, while Ryan Giggs is still out with a hamstring problem.

The story is too old to be commented.

I think United needs Rooney in shape to win tight games, wich is a key factor for winning the premier league. A really good striker, as Rooney is when in shape, is the difference bewen 3 and 1 point i a game as City - United this week. Rooney makes goal coming out from nowhere, and he set up his team mates. I think United is in a rush to get him on field- Chelsea cant be to much ahead,.

They learnt the hard way with hargreaves not to rush players back. i would like to see him back, but i'd rather they sell him and buy a better striker

There was no real injury though I though Rooney admitted this?? So why sign him upto a 1/4 million a week then let him go on holiday? It makes NO SENSE.. No wonder the clubs in massive debt.. Obviously like throwing money away.. Either that or they don't wanna risk him as they plan to sell in Jan and the new contract was to purely get his value up.

alot of money wasted but if they did not give him the contrtact he would leave in january
