Arsene Wenger admitted his decision to play Cesc Fabregas backfired after the Arsenal captain was forced off with a hamstring injury in their 2-0 defeat to Braga in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Now the midfielder faces up to three weeks out with the problem, meaning he is likely miss Premier League games against Aston Villa, Fulham and more importantly, title rivals Manchester United on December 13.
But Wenger concedes he had doubts whether to play his captain and has ruled the Spanish star out for at least two weeks.
