Milivoje Novakovic opened the scoring in the 52nd minute after pouncing on a Diego Benaglio mistake yet substitute Cicero created a moment of magic in the 81st minute to earn a draw for Steve McClaren's men. The draw leaves Wolfsburg in 13th place while Koeln move up a place to 16th in the table.
The home side started the game brightly and created several decent half chances early on with Fabrice Ehret coming desperately close on 10 minutes to getting on the end of a Milivoje Novakovic low cross. Hopwever, Diego Benaglio was alert enough to thwart the left-back.
