Young Real Madrid playmaker Sergio Canales has confessed that he’s not content to warm los Blancos’ bench, but he’s not about to leave the nine-time European champions either.
Signed from Racing Santander in the summer, the Spaniard has struggled to make an impression on Jose Mourinho’s plans, and with Kaka returning to fitness there has been talk of a potential loan move to Serie A. Though that speculation has died a little over the last fortnight, Canales has admitted that he’s content to continue plugging away at the Bernabeu.
“I’m not happy, but I’m not going to leave Madrid, only fight and work hard to get more opportunities,” he is quoted as telling AS. “Playing in Madrid is complicated and I knew it would not be easy. I came with enthusiasm and was aware that playing for a big team is very complicated, because there are great players and competition is high. So I have to try to exploit all my opportunities.
