Everton have signed highly rated English defender Eric Dier on loan from Sporting CP until the end of the season.
The 17-year-old, who moved to Portugal as a 7-year-old, has come through the club's famed academy, which has seen players such as Luis Figo, Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani pass through its ranks.
