Carew keen to be permanent Potter

John Carew would be happy to consider a permanent move to Stoke but has refused to discuss the breakdown of his relationship at Aston Villa.

Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Fulham saw Carew make his Potters debut after signing on loan from Villa earlier in the week.

The striker came off the bench just after Clint Dempsey scored his second goal from the penalty spot following Ryan Shawcross' dismissal for denying a goalscoring opportunity.

Carew refused to discuss the breakdown in his relationship with Villa boss Gerard Houllier that led to his temporary transfer, saying: "I don't want to talk about Houllier."

He has been fighting with his manager for the last 12 months! Of course he wants to leave for another club. Houllier is not a man to make relationships with.
