League leaders Lille lost just their third match of the season after going down 1-0 to Montpellier in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
Younes Balhanda netted the winner for the hosts at Stade de la Mosson in the 84th minute to hand Rudi Garcia's side their first league defeat since October.
Despite the result, Lille remain in first place, but are now just two points clear of second-placed Stade Rennes after they won 2-1 on their trip to Toulouse.
